Truckblog on The Move!!…..Static

DFDS, Felixstowe Window has been done!!

Last week I managed a day out shunting trailers in and out of Felixstowe dock. On my way out of DFDS, Felixstowe I noticed on the out gate window, I noticed a couple of random stickers in the window, dull ones at that. So being a top marketing expert I leapt at the opportunity. I asked matey at the window if I could stick a brighter truck related sticker up and he kindly said “of course!”. So now any truck coming out of DFDS Felixstowe, UK trailer pullers or continental drivers off the DFDS Freight ships from the continent will all be exposed to the Truckblog sticker!! Be warned you will log on!! Thanks DFDS.

New Truckblog Stickers On The Move!!

Truck blog V2 Final.jpg

As some of you may well be aware, a few months back I asked you all who was interested in having a new Truckblog sticker and surprise surprise some of you were keen on a freebie…..tough time’s I know! Anyway, some how or another I have just 3 of the original 50 left and I have no idea where they have all gone, really I haven’t! What better way to show them off in all their glory (the stickers that is) than put a few, that I do know the where abouts of, up here on the blog as Truckblog on the move. I even have had a few photos sent through of the new sticker but I can’t find them, what a bummer!! Anyway lets get started and who best to get the ball rolling than top blog contributor Steve Marsh Express. This is the sticker in place on the little euro busting MAN TGL, along with the older long version blog sticker, if you look carefully that is!;

Next up we have Andy Blunsden. An owner driver from Bristol, known to many of you as Carrot (I think!). Andy has stuck one on the back of his trailer that he hauls all over Europe and also to the Middle East, although I don’t think the sticker has made it to the desert yet! Hopefully Andy will get some inspiration from Marshy’s efforts and send a pic or 2 of the sticker on the move, perhaps even in the dustier parts of the world!

Last up on this sticker update is Ceva Logistics Autralia’s top car transporting subbie, Julian Baker. This is probably the furthest away sticker that I know of. Julian is based near Melbourne in Oz and he and his little UD mini artic travel all over Oz carrying cars. Great pics;

Another terrrible sunset in Oz!….really makes the colours in the sticker stand out, very artistic!

In the next month or so I will be ordering some more stickers, so if you want to join the club, I will let you know when they are here and you can buy one for yourself, on the premise that you send a photo of the sticker some where on the move! Email me; ben@truckblog.co.uk If your sticker pics haven’t made it to this update, they may well make the next…..

New Truckblog Stickers Now on the Road!

Truckblog on the Move......

The new Truckblog stickers are now in circulation, getting themselves around the UK and Europe. If you drive a truck any where in the world you can of course buy one as long as you send in a photo of where you have stuck it with some thing in the background, like Steve Marsh’s effort above. This is the first one “On the Move” that I have received, although Marshy has said it its not the greatest photo. The best thing is that he is showing the sticker off on it’s first trip, which is a good one, this photo was taken in Norrkoping Docks, Sweden. If you’ve got a sticker or you are getting one, click on the Truckblog Stickers heading on the home page of the blog. Then once stuck on your truck, email me your photos; ben@truckblog.co.uk

Marsh Man + Mini Me!

While on the way up through Germany to Sweden, Steve Marsh woke up one morning to see that his truck had had a baby! This little tilt turned up and looks like a mini-me version of Steve’s MAN TGL. I’m not to up on my vans but I think this could be a Renault Master perhaps?? Any way hopefully there will be more Truckblog stickers on the move to come!

A Trucking Transam Truck Visit

Matt Ireland - Transam Trucking (5)

A week or 2 ago a friend of mine, who goes by the name of Mat Ireland (yes the brother of truckblog writer Nick Ireland), popped into our yard for a quick visit, on his way back to Transam Trucking’s base, with his big black DAF and matching plain black trailer.

Matt Ireland - Transam Trucking (2)

Mat called in to collect an HC Wilson Scania 141 model, a man with good taste. Truck and driver had just returned from a European tour with the band Deftones. They were planned to be home for 4 days before heading back off to Switzerland, the up to Russia for another full European tour with the one and only Britney Spears! I have set Mat a challenge of getting Miss Spears to pose next to the truckblog sticker on the back of his trailer…..He said “That won’t be difficult, i’ll just get her to do it when she’s leaving my cab one morning!” I do like people with a sense of humour!!

They often say you can tell a lot about a driver by the inside of his cab. Well I am pleased to say that Mat’s cab lives up to this statement. Everything in its place but with a rock and roll twist! Gig stickers, backstage passes etc etc. The best way to describe it would be like one of those cool old school VW Campers, you know it just looked cool. You can definitely see it’s his home from home, not sure if you can see that from the photo though.

Not sure if I really want to say this but if you want to send me pics of the inside of your cab and how you make it homely, email them to me at; ben@truckblog.co.uk no yucky ones thankyou!

Activ Cars Spezialtransporte, Achim, Bremen

Right here we go again. Those who know me will know that i am not one to give up on some thing I want. Now for a good while I have been trying to get more photo’s and info about this lot as they don’t have a website. I did email them once and i did get a good reply with a couple of yard photo’s, but as you have guessed I want to get more of both! Activ Cars operate out of Achim, Bremen, Germany. They have a good looking fleet of Mercedes, mainly Atego’s. Perhaps my new friends at Mercedes Benz UK can even get in on the detective trail, surely there are some German colleagues you can contact?? Activ travel all over the continent and even regularly come to the UK. The main stay of there work seems to be for Airbus, delivering parts to manufacturing plants, such as Frankfurt, Toulouse and Broughton near Chester.

Activ Cars

Now, I have done an appeal before for your spots as you go about your daily drives, and we did get a couple of spots, one at Killingholme Dock and another up the M6, possibly heading for Broughton. I am going to try my luck by emailing the email address I have and hope the staff at Activ Cars don’t ignore my email. Now this is where you lot come in, while i’ll do the emailing, I need you lot to keep your eyes peeled and send me any photos you manage to get of Activ Cars mini artics on the road. Ideally one of you will find an Activ truck parked up and you can ask the driver to email me, ben@truckblog.co.uk or via the Truckblog Facebook Page. In fact who ever send’s in the best NEW photo of one of these trucks, will win a www.truckblog.co.uk sticker. In my previous searches I even put a thread on trucknetuk.com and did get some response, but i have renewed this Mini German Artic thread in the hope it too might get some new feedback.

Just look at the backdoors, they have a lovely gap at the bottom for a nice new Navy Blue truckblog sticker! The detective work starts now, so best bi-nock-u-lars on and get detecting my loyal spotters. Hopefully now we have a load of new European friends reading the blog we may be able to spread the hunt further and wider than before and we may even get some results. Just imagine if an employee of Activ Cars got to hear about the search, they might email me direct!! Remember my email address is ben@truckblog.co.uk

Transam Trucking & Truckblog Rock

Another contributer hopefully signed up to Truckblog on the Move. The one and only Transam Trucking is now sporting the rare truckblog mark! Driver Mat Ireland is the named driver who doesn’t realise what he’s got himself into….sorry i mean is the lucky driver who is now part of the truckblog family. I’m hoping over the next few months we will get some interesting pics of this particular sticker enjoying its new rock n roll lifestyle!

Transam Trucking 2

I did actually hand Mat 2 stickers so you never know we might get another driver from Transam signed up aswell. Can you imagine, we might even get a passing pop/rock starlet passing the sticker while on tour……..In fact i’m not sure who the sticker is currently on tour with, Mat can you fill us in??
I was also quietly pleased that the sticker joins other famous stickers on the back doors of Mats trailer, Superfast Ferries and Minoan Lines, aswell as what i think is a PB Tank Cleaning sticker, yes another sad fact that i seem to know my truck stickers!!

Transam Trucking 1

If you drive the highways and byways of our Great Land or even Europe and beyond, email the blog and pledge your case and I may just send you a truckblog sticker too, if you have a worthy place for it that is. Below is an example of “Truckblog on The Move” on the back of an Astran trailer departing Kent for the Middle East. Also the same truck in the desert on it’s way. Unfortunately the rear view with the sticker in seemd to get lost in translation during the trip! Still you get the idea of “truckblog on the move”.
