Danish Scania’s Looking for New Homes

How annoying is Facebook?? You just cant nip onto it and do what you got to do or look at what you want to look at. You end up looking then, seeing some thing else, then that leads you to some where else and before you know it you aged 6 months!! So there I was this morning, nipping on to FB to check the amount of “Likes” I’ve got on the FB blog page, then 6 months later i realised i was looking at some Danish classic Scania’s that are up for sale. I think you’ll find that my saying of Old Scania’s never die they just get better, has just been proven (with exception for the rusty one!),

Danish 141 for sale

This lovely 141 is first up, looks like it in fairly good condition. There is also a tidy looking Vabis and also a rust bucket of a Vabis. Although i’m sure one of you would be able to bring it back to its former Scandinavian glory. Might need more than a lick of paint me thinks!!

Now there is a bargain to be had here. The 141 and the better Vabis are up for €11,500 each and the rusty project is up for €3,500. But and this is the big BUT, my Danish friend Mr Allan Bach says that if you are feeling particularly flush you can buy all 3 trucks for just €22,000! I think that would be a bargain. So if you are interested and not just another bloomin annoying tyre kicker you can email Allan, his email address is; allan-bach@mail.tele.dkin the mean time i’m off to check my lottery ticket!!
p.s. not sure why the 141 has a 2007 date on it.

What is the World Coming To MAN?!

There are many things you can buy on the wonderous ebay, i myself like a little poke around to see what bargains i can find, afterall one man’s junk is another man’s  treasure. Regular reader of the blog, Peter Metcalf, alerted me to this item that surely doesn’t deserve to be auctioned off on the ebay?? This is a real bargain, have a read of the advert and you’ll be convinced that you need to make a bid. My wife has just pulled the laptop away from me, in fear of me making the bid! Click here to go to the advert on ebay, truckblog takes no responsibility for you making a bid!! Also the ad will go out of date shortly so be quick and be aware the link won’t work after the auction end date. In case the auction has finished, here are a couple of pics of the MAN that you missed out on………….. No i haven’t bought it!!

If by magic the sellers (SBI Logistics, Exeter) are reading this, i would love to see the new trucks, withs pics and specs for the readers to enjoy. Any way i hope you get the old one sold, send me an email, ben@truckblog.co.uk

Mini Artics

Now you know i have a little affection for a mini artic, over the last few weeks and months a have been sent a few and found a few on the www. Not had many spots from my trusty spotters, although Steve Marsh saw an Activ Cars at Frechen last week but wasn’t quick enough with his camera, shocking! Any way in case you are like me here are a few for you to perv over.

Mini Merc
TGL Tractor

How about this one used by Bickers Actionfor filming those in car scenes you see on all you fave TV programmes. The car goes on the flat and the cameras go on the neck, then the truck drives about and makes it look as though the car being filmed is actually on the road.

And of course, who can forget the Tom-Car MAN. I wonder if its still for sale??

The Long Haul Pioneers by Ashley Coghill

On the way to work this morning, i stoppped off at Old Pond Publishing in Ipswich to collect my copy’s (No. 149 & 150) of the newly released book by Ashley Coghill, The Long Haul Pioneers. Unfortunatly i was only able to flick through a couple of pages, but the few pictures i saw look priceless. If you have any interest in Middle East Trucking its got to be worth  buying a copy. I’ll let you know how i get on when i get to look through it properly. To order your copy head to Old Pond Publishing’s site and get ordering, click here to go the the right page.
