Eminox Case Study: April 2017

This award winning show truck from Ian Maclean has now been finished off with classic Eminox twin stacks. Ian was looking for the perfect finishing touch for his Scania 143M show truck, it is branded Peter Roff in tribute to the haulage operator. All his vehicles were fitted with Eminox stacks, so this was the ideal way to complete the look.

He contacted Eminox’s Stoke centre, who specialise in Custom exhausts, including stacks, tailpipe conversions and sidepipes, in April 2016. Images of previous show trucks helped the Eminox team to understand what Ian wanted, various ideas were discussed. The final decision was to go with high top twin stacks, but also incorporate a switch over valve and twin side pipes.

The system was fitted by engineers at Eminox’s Stoke centre over 4 day’s with updates being sent to Ian, we think the result is 10/10. Ian says, “This is exactly the end result we had dreamed of for our award winning show truck.” He knew Eminox was the only way to go! TBHQ Donations

Hello Gang, sorry I’ve been away. Been getting over Christmas and through nearly dry January. A busy year this year I think truckers, lots to do, shows to get to, books to write etc etc and of course you lot to try and keep hooked. This year should see the birth of a new, larger TBHQ and Mrs Blog has already told me she will decorate it using all my truck gumpf as it will look far cooler if she does it!

A good old boy by the name of Mr Darren Watts text me and said he’d found a couple of old toy trucks in a clear out and asked if I wanted them?? Is a bear catholic? Does the pope….. in the woods?? So the deal was done and I’ve re-homed the two National Band 3 Globetrotters. If much like the kind hearted Mr Watts, you have any old truck stuff that you don’t want to bin but don’t have space for then I can give it a loving home. Things like stickers, badges, models or anything to be honest, can be re-homed. I even got given a proper looking CMR with Russian stamps and numbers and the like, looks awesome on the wall.

If you willing to donate to the good cause then contact me some how and we’ll get something sorted. Much love bloggers.

The Great Late 1980’s Debate

So it’s Sunday night the week before Christmas 1988, you get to the yard in Aylesbury Sunday afternoon with a tip and load in Italy to finish the year. But the big question is this, your given the choice of truck you want to take. Your usual truck is in for MOT and there are keys for an 11 month old Volvo F12 Globetrotter or an 18 month old Scania 142. Both are 6 wheelers and both have loaded straight tri-axle tilts ready to go. Chop chop you need to get a wriggle on to make the boat this evening. Which set of keys do you pick up??

Please keep it clean and comment below with which one and why.

First Truck Photos Please

This weekend can you all post photos of your first truck please?? Just a bit of fun following on from a thread from a few friends.

This was my first truck. I ordered when I was 18 and about to leave college. I bought a DAF as they were the only ones who would sell to me at that age. Incidentally the photo below was my first European trip aged 18 with a load of Herbal teas out to Venray near Venlo in NL.

Please post your photos and tell us all a little about it. Looking forward to lots of retro 7.5 tonners!
