I’ve been meaning to post this one. A week or two after The Long Haul Pioneers was released my good friend and expert pilot sent me this photo. His comment being; “Unusual places to read THE book – No1. 39,000 feet on the way to Marrakesh.” How about that then Ashley?? Do you know of a higher place to read the book than that?? Whats more worrying, The Pilot is reading a book while flying or the fact he is taking a picture of the deed on his phone while flying??!! Although if you look hard enough the book is placed on the list of things to do after take off! If you want a copy of the book, then go to Old Pond Publishings website, although they are currently out of stock. Great Picture, if you have evidence of a better place to read the book the email me, ben@truckblog.co.uk

I’m a Morrocan in France
………. Didn’t Sting write a song about that.
Sent in by regular contributer Steve “Marshy Truck Perv” Marsh, this Morrocan is his only other company in the services he is weekended at between Lyon and Grenoble this weekend. For those with keen eyes you can just see the little MAN beyond the front of the Magnum. Looks like a terrible weekend for being stuck in France!!

Nearly There……….
Mr Skinner has sent an update. A few posts ago i put a picture of this truck on its way to a new life in the sun and with another load for the legendary ASTRAN. The truck was part of a group of 6 trailers taking some steel down to Qatar for a stadium that they are building. They are hoping to win the 2022 world cup!!!! Now the truck is there and probably needs to learn the new language, looking at the road signs!! Although the desert isn’t all that interesting, some how it still makes a cracking shot!! Keep them coming Wayne. Any pics you lot want to send, please do to; ben@truckblog.co.uk
Remembering Sweet Pea
Oh what a bugger getting into your truck can be on a Friday morning. The thought of crossing the M62 for one final time this week, the boredom of parking on the M25 with thousands of others who have nowhere else to be, your old ageing Iveco struggling to pass a few more miles in the week………………….. Hang on a boomerang throwing minute, what am i talking about. ANdy Wilson sent this picture Friday with his days ride. He says; “Todays jigger. Kenworth T904 heading out in Queensland Desert near South Austraila border with gas exploration stuff.” Tough old job………

Tanked Up… Well Off
The roving reporter is back! Recoverd from the airfields of the Middle East with this lovely little sequence from Baghdad Airport. The Streamliner drops off the leaking diesel tanker. The Merc couples up to take the trailer away and makes the cardinal mistake of not checking if he is coupled up or not! Now more DERV leaking from the old tanker. Lovely mix that, airplane fuel, sparks, M/E temperatures and a man with a camera.

I-raq is Back
These few little gems come from the roving reporter over there in I-raqistan. Parked just round the corner from his hotel were these 3. Looks like the Volvo is an international motor as its displaying the Saudi transit plate. Also look at the Pegaso, on the side of the container, i think that is a air con unit sticking out the side! Homemade fridge box by any chance?? Great pictures Captain, keep them coming.

Little & Large
Not a lot to report from Turkey, while the boss was on holiday. Although this tidy pair of tankers were sat together. Both part of the same firm, but not for the same delivery points you’d hope!
Roving Reporter in Lanzarotte
The Roving Report sent me these pictures from Lanzarotte. Lovely Mercedes still in use at the airport. Beautifull condition, probably low low mileage. Doesn’t even look like its a bump of any kind. Good spot DS!

New Roving Reporter in the M/E
I have on-board a new roving reporter. He is based in the Middle-East with a slight lean towards the aviation side of life. He has promised to keep sending me pictures of road based vehicles that he stumbles across when on terra-firma. To start with he has sent this text picture of his latest “truck” having a drink! The other one looks like a fairly new Actros tanker.
