Rubber to the Ready
Note the rubber mats so we didn’t scratch the paint work! Although we did need a piece the size of the chassis as the young asian deck hand was about to put a chain over the chassis as there were no rear lashing points………..i pointed out that chocks under the wheels were enough!!
The Start
So this is where the road trip started. Norfolkline terminal at Felixstowe. Waiting to board the 0800 sailing last Thursday to Vlaardingen. It was a dry morning for a change so we got to Felixstowe without getting dirty, although we had already had the cab up on EGV to prime the fuel pump when we left Elmswell, but hey ho, it didn’t need doing for the rest of the trip.
Little Man
No this wasn’t at the Assen show at the weekend, those pictures are coming over the next few weeks!
You know i like a little truck so here is a little beauty i found on Flickr.com, very smart, looks like a hospitallity unit of some kind.
Little & Large
Not a lot to report from Turkey, while the boss was on holiday. Although this tidy pair of tankers were sat together. Both part of the same firm, but not for the same delivery points you’d hope!
Top Spot by Froggers the Secret Perv!
Rich claims he found this by accident, yea ok. You can see it on Google earth, just off Avenue de la Gironde, Grande Synth Estate, Dunkerque. Its in the corner where the D265 meets the A16. According to Google Earth measurements the tank is 61 metres long and 7.50 metres wide. Good spot you old perv!
Double Dumper, Ramm & Fumpaaa
2 of 5 TR100’s we moved the other week from Newhouse to Southampton. Picture taken by the expert photographer Mrs Sue Rammmmmmmm. Fumpa was in SW02 HCW for the week while the Titan had an MOT and wheel paint! All 5 machines moved without a problem.
How Picturesque!
Taken by the driver, a certain Mr T Nunn, Today at Felixstowe. Truck looks as good as ever and a blue sky with a crane makes for a tidy picture, nice one!
6 New R480’s for Wilsons
This is the first time all 6 new trucks have been lined up together. All have been supplied over the last year. 2 are low height, 6×2 midlifts, 3 are Low height, 6×2 twinsteer units, the 6th is a 6×2 tag axle rigid, coupled with a low height 3 axle a-frame drawbar trailer, alreaady owned by Wilsons but fully refurbed to fit the new truck.
Recently Restored 111
This beauty is the hard work of Fred Everiss and a few friends. Fred worked for Gilder for 18 years so has good reason to have this lovely 111 painted in the maroon livery. Fred has also sent me some pictures of the 111 in its earlier life. Originally a dutch truck it has some good international history so i’ll try and get the pics of that on here too. Good work Fred, keep it up!
