W100 HCW Caught napping in Cyprus!

How bizarre things can be. Friday last week the boss GW received an email from a concerned/informative member of the Great British Pulic. Mr T Seward fro Durham was enjoying his holiday in Cyrus when he came across said truck parked up for the weekend in Limassol. The mail read, Mr Seaward was concerned our truck may have been stolen or sold and still be in our colours or indeed we may still be lookinmg for it. If only all members of the Briitish public were so helpfull. Here is Mr Seawards photo, no sign of the driver, i dare say he was off some where with a beer in his hand!

New Volvo for Armoric

This little gem was on the Volvo stand at The Royal Cornwall Show last week. Although i’m not, as many of you are aware, the biggest Volvo fan, it is a truck, i like trucks, and its a smart one at that. Also i’ve Armoric have always caught my eye. They strike me a haulier who justs seems to get on with the job and always be on the move some where. On our way back up the M4 Saturday afternoon, we passed a DAF heading West again, just getting on with the job. Any other Armoric facts of Photos’s please email them to me truckblog@hotmail.co.uk

Old Bedford at Eden

While wandering around the tropical Dome at the Eden Project, i was making my way through the Sugar Cane, when i stumbled across this old dog. Brightly coloured and looking like she was loading another load of cane, although i’m not entirley sure the constant wet and humid air will do much for preserving the old girl! Judging by the other people taking pictures of the truck mine wasn’t the only eye caught by the bright colours!!

EGV Off to Foreign Lands Again

Once more EGV 565T is heading off the Europe. Last night she set sail from Felixstowe to Vlaardingen, NL. Delivering 20Ton to Antwerp this morning, reloading Maasluis, NL this afternoon, then off to Paris-ish for an Oldtimer show this weekend. Looked good she did in some rare summer sun! Do you know of any working trucks that are 30 years old? If so email me at truckblog@hotmail.co.uk or post a comment below.

Old Timer Looks Like New

After some TLC for the last couple of months Wilsons trusty 141 starts on the show circuit. First stop being the Crowfield Truck Rally at Ipswich over the bank holiday weekend just gone. Next its off to some where south of Paris for a French oldtimer show. The only way it will get out to France will be with a load on of some sort. In the yard last week she was hooked up to Wilsons one and only curtainsider and i have to say it didn’t look out of place at all. Very smart. Not sure what it will go to France with but it wouldn’t look to bad as this set up.

I admit it, i drove an Iveco……….

Yes i did for a year or so. T7 GBF, the one and only decent Iveco in the fleet and the world! She never let me down. During our time together we set a few company records at GB Finch, most loads in a day i think was 26 tipped. Haverhill 5 times a day, Woodbridge 4 times a day, all from the Yrad at Great Leighs (Essex). I thought T7 deserved a picture or 2. The second one i was trying to clever in the evening with a crap camera, didn’t really work did it! Being expertly loaded by Bob, probably the best excavator driver ever FACT.

Update on My old Actros

After posting the pics of me picking the Actros up from the dealership, i was sent this picture from George Ward. Taken fairly recently in Ireland and still pulling for McCulla. I had had reports she was pulling a fridge as she has overtaken various friends of mine, so she is obviously running on paddy power these days. Would be nice to see here myself. Still looks smart and is obviously being looked after. Any more photos of her then please email them to truckblog@hotmail.co.uk
