What a life the long distance lorry driver has. Deliver Saturday 20km from Limassol then you have to wait til 1600hrs Tuesday for the boat back to Greece. Lovely, what would you do with your self getting paid in Cyprus for the best part of 3 days. I think i’d park up for the weekend some where, then perhaps tout for some local jobs on Monday!! Just in case anyone knows there is a 6 wheel rigid of HC Wilson in Cyprus untill Tuesday afternoon.
Once more EGV 565T is heading off the Europe. Last night she set sail from Felixstowe to Vlaardingen, NL. Delivering 20Ton to Antwerp this morning, reloading Maasluis, NL this afternoon, then off to Paris-ish for an Oldtimer show this weekend. Looked good she did in some rare summer sun! After some TLC for the last couple of months Wilsons trusty 141 starts on the show circuit. First stop being the Crowfield Truck Rally at Ipswich over the bank holiday weekend just gone. Next its off to some where south of Paris for a French oldtimer show. The only way it will get out to France will be with a load on of some sort. In the yard last week she was hooked up to Wilsons one and only curtainsider and i have to say it didn’t look out of place at all. Very smart. Not sure what it will go to France with but it wouldn’t look to bad as this set up.
What classic 70’s truck based film down a dusty old back road being chased by the old bill, does this modern scene remind you of???? Answers on a postcard or better still comments!

Seemingly endless cable drums for the Greater Gabbard windfarm project. These 3 are on there way from Hartlepool to Harwich at 4.30m wide they make an impressive convoy even if all the trucks are the famous red!!
Week 6 was a snowy week for most of Europe, most people i heard from where suffering with the white stuff some where in Europe. W200 HCW was sat on the Motorway down near Heilbron, Germany for most of a day enroute to Plzen, Czech. While X400 HCW was in Gothenburg, Sweden with the Army Truck Load. As you would expect in Scandinavia there was lots of snow but no problems!
We were asked to go and collect 4 Grommet Slings from Rotterdam and take them to Hartlepool. So we weren’t sure what to expect when we were told they were made of rope! We did think they must be steel rope but we hadn’t realised how large they would be! Looks like a big old snake coiled up on the trailer. 4 loads in total.
