Sent in by regular contributer Steve “Marshy Truck Perv” Marsh, this Morrocan is his only other company in the services he is weekended at between Lyon and Grenoble this weekend. For those with keen eyes you can just see the little MAN beyond the front of the Magnum. Looks like a terrible weekend for being stuck in France!!
A recent trip to Brasov, Romania for Steve Marsh proved that some things in Haulage do get better or so it seems. Of all the countries in Europe Romania is the only one that Steve said he didn’t want to go back too after a trip there 5 years ago, so as you may expect he wasn’t looking forward to going back. After the delivery he sent me these pictures and said “Not as bad as i expected, there were fewer horse and carts on the road!”
He came across this little place that was full of dead or cut up English trucks, i think the little MAN was keen to get on its way!

My good friend David at Kersey Freight sent me these pics of one of his new DAF’s delivering in Milton Keynes. Looking at the pics i couldn’t help but think they looked familiar. Out come my photo archives and i found the picture below of me tipping at the same place many moons ago (in the best truck i had!) on the same bay as the Spaniard in the back of the newer photo. How bizarre!! How sad i recognised a loading bay!!!
This thing was shown off at the Assen Truckstar Festival this year. I still haven’t got really got to the bottom of it yet, but it looks like it as built by Truckstar Magazine for fun and will eventually be sold off for charity. Pretty smart though. Thanks to Tony Van Der Nunn for the picture.
It took a while but now the pics are flooding in! Back in January i put a New Thread on www.trucknetuk.com asking if any body had seen these little Mercs running about. They are a German firm called Active Cars. The company seems to have a contract with Airbus, at a guess taking large light weight plane parts to Broughton and else where. Mr Skinner has sent an update. A few posts ago i put a picture of this truck on its way to a new life in the sun and with another load for the legendary ASTRAN. The truck was part of a group of 6 trailers taking some steel down to Qatar for a stadium that they are building. They are hoping to win the 2022 world cup!!!! Now the truck is there and probably needs to learn the new language, looking at the road signs!! Although the desert isn’t all that interesting, some how it still makes a cracking shot!! Oh what a bugger getting into your truck can be on a Friday morning. The thought of crossing the M62 for one final time this week, the boredom of parking on the M25 with thousands of others who have nowhere else to be, your old ageing Iveco struggling to pass a few more miles in the week………………….. Hang on a boomerang throwing minute, what am i talking about. ANdy Wilson sent this picture Friday with his days ride. He says; “Todays jigger. Kenworth T904 heading out in Queensland Desert near South Austraila border with gas exploration stuff.” Tough old job………
These pictures were taken by Wayne Skinner on his way to the ME with some sellers. Still seems to be a good trade in European trucks out there although he did say he was a little cautious about the ex MW Tasker Scania as they are slighty out of favour at the moment. Still a cracking pic of the Volvo in the desert and does any one know where the Scania pic was taken?? i have no idea! At least Astran are keeping him busy, hopefully more pics to come.
