Hows this for load restraint while we’re on the subject. I think this is a new system that we used to use over here back in the 1800’s! I can see the rope around the bottom is creating a secure base so what more could go wrong. My thought was what happens when he gets to a bump or a corner???? Good luck i won’t be applying for the position of Load Restrainer thats for sure.

Far East Overhang Laws??
Obviously their overhang laws are a little more lienient than our European ones! By my reckoning there are 10 pick ups on the this little load, and not a lot holding on the back ones apart from a few well used span sets. The Germans would have a fit!!
Did a Little Job Today
Did a little job today in the Roadrunner. Littleport, Cambs to Harwich Dock with an urgent pallet that was put straight into the corner of a storage warehouse!! Never mind, made a change to be out of the office on a sunny day…………… I’m sure my roadrunner wasn’t that bumpy, perhaps it was the lack of an air seat!!
Scania Viking Edition
I have borrowed this one from my old mate Colin at Spot-On lite bars.
I did take a picture way back at Truckfest in May but it didn’t come out well. So here it is a 620 Viking, nothing else to say about it, but remember to give Colin a ring for all your stainless requirements, call 01782 566385 or click
A Few Subtle Changes
Can anyone tell me the 3 subtle exterior changes to TN’s truck?
After a trip to Assen Some red lenses on the whirlie whirlie lights, a re-styled/painted visor and of course the very Dutch “Earring Lights” on the mirror arms.
Saturdays Drive
I got to drive the Road Train Saturday. I picked JF up from Harwich as he was out of hours. Drives well although as JF said it does roll about abit, still it was a nice drive.
All My Assen Pictures
There really are to many pics to put them all on here, i even surprised myself how many i took! To see all of my pics go to my flickr.com page.
Some Oldies
There were loads of oldies at Assen, Mainly Scania’s and DAF’s. Here are a few.

The DAF below was a cracker. The trailer had twin steering axles, an old flower trailer fully converted to a full camper with beds kitchen and sitting room!

More Assen Pics
We stopped at the last services before Assen, to do some top perving on the Friday morning;

Among others this little beasty came in to the services. I’m still not a big fan of these tribal graphics, but the truck was so so smart, lots of little details that made it a guess. It did look smart with all its lights on at the show.

Once we got to the show these were a few of the first trucks we came across.

This Volvo caught my eye. I like the 40’s style and i also like the way it has been airbrushed with paint cracks and rubs and rust runs in the paint work, it actually looks a lot better than it sounds!

The Boss has Just Nipped Out for a Minute
GW popped out to grab a couple of pictures of these 3 HC Wilson trucks on the A14. The drums are 4.30M diameter and weigh about 35 Ton each. These 2 are the first of many heading to Harwich, so they will be a regular site on the A14, A12 and A120 over the next few weeks. Good picture, i also blame the camera for the slight blur!!
