Truckfest Pics

All in all not a lot to see at Truckfest this year, well nothing to really take pics of. I had a good snoop about a new shape Actros which i hadn’t yet had a chance to do. It’s still got to be one of the best cabs on the market. Well laid out and so so spacious after being in an R series Scania (yes i did just type that!). Well worth Truck of the Decade i think.

Truckfest 2010 – Same Old Same Old

We payed a visit to Peterborough on Sunday. The weather wasn’t too bad but show its self was disappointing. Firstly we were guided into the back on the car park at 0930hrs when we drove passed an empty front of the car park, so we carried on past the Marshall and parked in the front row. Secondly this is the first time I’ve been to Truckfest in a long time and had to pay for entry tickets and i can safely but sadly say it’ll be the last. At £16 per adult it just isn’t worth it, the show isn’t good enough to charge that kind of admission. You don’t get anything what so ever for your ticket price, food is extortionate (all prices on food stands are governed by show organisers so they get a cut), the show is the same format its been for donkeys years and you can never find a bloomin bin to put your rubbish in!! Come on Live Promotions its now 2010 not 1985 pull the show into the 2oth century, it need s a revamp and quick. I think more truck stands rather than market stalls may help. If i wanted to buy chunky garden furniture i’d head to the nearest boot sale. I know trade stands provide an income for the show but in that case why do entry tickets need to be so expensive?? All in all i find it a very depressing show these days especially compared to our European counterparts, we as seems to be the trend in the UK seriously lack behind every one else.

RANT OVER!!

Double, Double Bubble

He was off again last week. Steve Marsh loaded from Milton Keynes and Brussels for delivery to Pribylana, SK. Not only did Steve have 2 collections on the way out, he had 2 collections in Horovice & Liberec CZ. Thats the way to do it, always loaded!

Having not been to Slovakia myself, i thought the scenery was pretty dramatic with the snowy topped mountains in the background. On the other hand the 2nd picture could almost be some where in Canada, what with the pine trees lining the road!!

I am the Ice-MAN!!

I know its another one and you lot are  probably bored beyond belief, but hey ho. Cracking little man fridge, looks like a compnay of them judging by the one in the background. Ideal for a little job i know of running all over europe with a couple of ton of frozen goods. Add it to the list of “if only’s”

Mercedes Mini Artic

I saw this little one on the A14 a few months back. But only now have the valued members of www.trucknet.com  been able to provide the picture i was unable to get. The man in question is trucknets “wardg” so thanks for your help. Active cars have some contract or another with Airbus as some of their trailers carry the Airbus logo and have been spotted up at Broughton.  They are based just to the east of Bremen and unfortunately don’t seem to have a website. Lovely little fleet. 9/10.

Also snapped by “wardg” on the M6 was this one, another variation of the above, the crew cab having been converted into a bunk, smart.
