After a lovely overnight stay at De Lichtermans Routier, we popped back down the road a mile or 2 to try and get the trucks washed at Scania Beers just north of Zwolle. But due to a large que of trucks in desperate need of washing we were declined, although they did tell us of a coach wash near by that we went to and got a wash down.

Tekno Tekno Tekno
After arriving in Rotterdam we went round to the Tekno model factory for a nose about there little shop/museam. Officially it is only open to the public on Saturdays but we were welcomed as we hadf come from England and they liked our “cars” so much. If you have some time on your hands it is worth a visit. They have 1 of every model they have ever produced on the shelves and a new country by country museam just being built upstairs which we were given a sneak preview of.
Ready for the off
Lashed and chocked, UJN, EGV and Mr Cribbins also of HC WIlson fame in WU02 and NB28 ready to depart the UK.
Rubber to the Ready
Note the rubber mats so we didn’t scratch the paint work! Although we did need a piece the size of the chassis as the young asian deck hand was about to put a chain over the chassis as there were no rear lashing points………..i pointed out that chocks under the wheels were enough!!
The Start
So this is where the road trip started. Norfolkline terminal at Felixstowe. Waiting to board the 0800 sailing last Thursday to Vlaardingen. It was a dry morning for a change so we got to Felixstowe without getting dirty, although we had already had the cab up on EGV to prime the fuel pump when we left Elmswell, but hey ho, it didn’t need doing for the rest of the trip.
Little Man
No this wasn’t at the Assen show at the weekend, those pictures are coming over the next few weeks!
You know i like a little truck so here is a little beauty i found on Flickr.com, very smart, looks like a hospitallity unit of some kind.
Little & Large
Not a lot to report from Turkey, while the boss was on holiday. Although this tidy pair of tankers were sat together. Both part of the same firm, but not for the same delivery points you’d hope!
Top Spot by Froggers the Secret Perv!
Rich claims he found this by accident, yea ok. You can see it on Google earth, just off Avenue de la Gironde, Grande Synth Estate, Dunkerque. Its in the corner where the D265 meets the A16. According to Google Earth measurements the tank is 61 metres long and 7.50 metres wide. Good spot you old perv!
